"Valentine’s Day" is my first story which is the dark romance and mystery genres. In New York, our main character, Jim, takes interest in a young woman named Sofie. He wants to get to know her but doesn’t know how so he watched from a distance. He gets a date with Sofie, but how far does Jim’s definition of “boundaries” go? My intended tone for this story is for it to feel creepy; an obsession.
"Atypical Morning", a story within the drama genre, is about Agnes Gillepsie’s post-European-war life. She is an older woman who has escaped the wrath of WWII in Yugoslavia and lives alone in a barren town. With no people around Agnes is surprised to hear a knock at the door and helps the stranger who reveals his intentions soon after. Never let strangers in your home.
"A Big Lesson from A Small Mistake", my final drama story, is about a young adventurous gal named Anna who lives in a rural antiquated home and finds the key to the attic. Her obliviously busy mother tells her to stay out of there but is that enough to stop this curious mind? I wanted my final story to set the tone and provoke the emotions we felt as children, specifically how dangerous curiosity can be. The other side of this, if an adult were to read it, would be themed to spend more time with your children and appreciate them. Anna’s mother doesn’t realize Anna is simply a child and lets her personal resentments dampen her love for her child and life in general.
